The bob haircut also happens to work with pretty much every hair texture available, and because it can be modified in so many ways, it can flatter every face shape: heart shaped, round, diamond, oval, or long.

The bob has evolved from the classic single-length round cut of the past into a multi-layered masterpiece. It can be cut as high as the cheekbones or closer to chin length, depending on your personal preference and what would work best for your texture. Choosing the right amount of layers for your hair texture pretty much ensures that you’ll need minimal styling time from there on out. You can choose to wear it naturally, whatever your hair texture is, or blowdry it into a sleek, straight shape. Sometimes, if you’re in a rush, you can even just straighten the top layers and walk out of the house looking like you’ve spent hours on your hair. Naturally wavy or curly hair looks great cut into a bob, usually all you need is some mousse or other product and you’re good to go.

Upkeep with regular salon trims isn’t essential when you have a bob unless you decided to add bangs and want to keep them shorter. As a bob haircut grows out, you’ll find yourself with a longer shag cut and as the layers continue to grow out, they will blend more into each other. Eventually, the blunt angles of the bob will soften as the hair grows, but will still look great.

The best part about a classic hairstyle like the bob haircut, is its ability to go from the boardroom to the club with minimal effort. You can wear it smooth and straight for work and wild and natural when you’re out of the office. Adding a wax to piece-out the ends or tousling it with some pomade will make it look more fun. For the office, you can wear a sophisticated headband or slick it back. Either way, your bob will always fit whatever you’re wearing and wherever you’re going.
